Melvin Frohike (occasionally known as the great El Lobo) is a hacker, a journalist, a pervert, addicted to fashionably questionable vests (and also fingerless gloves), a master of disguise, a world-class tango dancer, and a lover of automobiles; but above all, he is a man who is completely dedicated to exposing the truth about what the American government is really up to. He's the oldest member of the Lone Gunmen, in charge of hardware, graphics, surveillance, and equipment of all kinds. He and his two buddies Langly and Byers publish a newspaper called 'The Lone Gunman', which they began publishing after they all met in 1989, at which point Frohike was a pirate cable dealer. He is the oldest of the group by at least 10 of years and he rarely enjoys being called by his first name. He is infatuated with Agent Dana Scully and porn, which are (not surprisingly) two interests he shares with his friend, Agent Fox Mulder. He writes the front page column for 'The Lone Gunman', entitled Straight From the Man, and can often have quite the narcissistic attitude. He will also do anything for the sake of getting a story, it seems - he once disguised himself as a woman's son in order to expose her for murder, and he once (accidentally) kidnapped a politician's baby. On many occasions he's crawled through duct work, fallen into huge puddles of mud, and basically put his butt on the line for the sake of the truth. He's got dark greyish blue eyes, gray/brown hair that is steadily disappearing from his head (and can often be found in a little ponytail) and stands at a whopping 5'3.
